Stevenage Test Centre is located in the old town, in Drapers Way, between the High Street and Primett Road.
This Test Centre has been here for as long as I can remember. It is a very small centre without its own car-park, and with no facilities - so be prepared!
The lack of its own car-park does not mean that the ‘bay park’ manoeuvre will not be done - the Waitrose car-park or the smaller one next to it may be used.
Stevenage has an abundance of roundabouts, a lot of which are on duel-carriageways. Some can be confusing to the novice driver, having to cope with ‘filter lanes’ or ‘under passes’, but with the correct tuition these will become second nature.
Test routes, as with Letchworth Test Centre, may take you out of town, to Knebworth, to Hitchin via Great Wymondley or to Graveley, or the A602 directly to Hitchin.
As with any route, if good tuition has been given then none of the routes will be too much for you.
